Description of Responsibilities

The Production Worker – Mixer is responsible for the physical creation of finished goods. He/she combines raw materials according to proprietary recipes, resulting in finished product that meets customer and regulatory requirements. The position is also responsible for some cleaning and sanitation duties related to his/her station. As an employee directly in contact with the finished product, Production Workers in this capacity are held to rigorous standards of hygiene, sanitation, and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Primary job duties (functions) may include but are not limited to the following

  • Mixing raw materials into a final product according to a pre-approved formula.
  • Learning and memorizing production processes in order to accurately create finished goods.
  • Operating large mixing and blending equipment.
  • Upholding high standards of hygiene and sanitation and following all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Knowing other production processes well enough to serve as a back-up in case of absences.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and the production room.
  • Participating in other facility cleaning activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Assisting in shipping and receiving activities when needed, including inventory management.
  • Any other activity directly related to the preparation and production of finished goods.

Performance Standards

  • Accurate product production according to pre-approved standards.
  • Strict adherence to GMPs and SOPs.

Physical Requirements

  • Long periods of standing and walking on hard, concrete surfaces.
  • Must be physically capable to handle and operate industrial mixing equipment.
  • Prolonged exposure to cold temperatures (between 36 and 40 F).
  • Not allergic to milk, eggs, or soy.
  • Regular lifting, up to 50 lbs., to open, move, and utilize raw materials and finished products.
