meet the people behind chiz’s
Our mission is to create and maintain a work environment where people learn, grow and excel as they take accountability to collectively deliver the Chiz’s brand to our customers.

CEO/ President
Steve Smith, spurred on by his experience and education gained at the New England Culinary Institute, founded a salsa company in 2014 which he named, Esteban’s Salsa. He began selling his salsas at the local farmer’s market and at state fairs and never returned home with inventory to spare. He sold out every single time. His success with Esteban’s salsa inspired him to begin to look into purchasing Chiz’s Cougar Cave, a small 21-seater Chinese-American restaurant, best known for its dressings and dips. Steve loved their products, recognized the value of their brand and saw the potential for expansion. With the help of Steve’s business partners, Steve purchased Chiz’s in 2015.

Since then Steve has built a state of the art food processing site, expanded the product line to 14 skews, and added bulk sizes to its distribution. These bulk sizes have expanded Chiz’s customer base from retail to food service companies and the distributors who service them. Today, Chiz’s products include Ranch, Blue Cheese and Cilantro Lime Ranch dressings, Strawberry and Vanilla Fruit dip, three unique and delicious Mexican Salsas and an Italian Vinaigrette. Steve’s excitement for Chiz’s and its future is contagious. He envisions the day when every person and home in America can join with others and together enjoy Chiz’s amazing dressings, dips and salsas.
